Guest Blog: Isabelle Gets #RED-y With Lush Hair Extensions

Posted On: 2012-09-06 21:40:38 ; Read: 12515 time(s)

A few months ago the very beautiful blogger Isabelle Gloria reviewed and dyed a set of our very own Lush Hair Extensions. We really loved her eclectic take on beauty, fashion and lifestyle in her blog and felt she did a fabulous job of representing the LHE brand. We're all for a bit of originality and this girl has lashings of it!

When our shade #RED hair extensions were launched newly Jessica Rabbit-red Isabelle was very intriqued to see just how bright these sets were. Fast-forward a month or two and Isabelle was now the proud owner of two of these sets and had offered to provide us with a guest blog post to boot! She has very kindly put together a hair-style tutorial to show another take on the high fashion ponytail using our most luminous shade to date.

A bit more about Isabelle..

"My name is Isabelle Gloria and I'm a fashion and beauty blogger from Germany. I'm a total hair lover and I fall for long, silky hair. The most beautiful accessory a woman can wear!

On my blog you can find a lot of beauty tips, art  and also some odd and extravagant things... which explains the blog name 'Fashion, Art & Oddity by Isabelle Gloria' Feel free to visit me: www.isabellegloria.com

I had the great opportunity to try out Lush Hair Extensions and to write this guest article for you. This tutorial shows you a very fast and easy way to create a high ponytail using the gorgeous Lush Hair Extensions. Even with quite short hair you can style this look and no one will notice how long (or short) your natural hair really is. On top of that this look has a lengthening effect on the extensions itself! Make sure to check out this tutorial to get a beautiful, luscious high ponytail! :)

In the photos I'm wearing the red Lush Hair Extensions. They're the brightest red you can ever imagine! Although my red is quite vermillion, I had to tone them down a few shades. Now they match my hair perfectly and are still as silky as ever.

Let's start with the tutorial. I hope you enjoy!"

I. Tie your hair into a very high ponytail. Make sure that your hair is very flat to your head and fix it with some hairspray. If you have fly-aways or babyhair, smooth them back with your hands or a fine comb.
Take another hair tie and place it a few inches lower than the first one.

Tie your hair into a high ponytail and tie again a few inches below

Smooth fly-aways with hairspray

II. Start placing your wefts by wrapping around the lowest point possible above the second hair tie and repeat that step until you end at the highest point possible underneath the first hair tie. Make sure that the clips are secure and flat on you natural ponytail. The distance between the wefts depends on how many wefts you want to use and how thick your ponytail is supposed to look in the end.
I used two 3 clip wefts and two 4 clip wefts for this look.

Clip the pieces starting above the lowest hair tie and ending below the first hair tie

Isabelle used four pieces to create the ponytail

The top piece should cover all the other clip-in pieces

III.Take one strand of hair from the area near your neck and wrap it around the hair tie and the seam of the highest weft. This covers all things suspicious for wearing hair extensions. Secure the strand with hair pins.

Use a strand of hair to cover the seam of the highest weft

Wrap this around the seam..

..And secure with hair pins!

IV. Gently brush your ponytail to blend the hair wefts and you're finished :)

The final result!

So there you have it, the #RED set tried and tested!
