Lush Hair Extensions: Holiday Hair Essentials

Holiday season is now upon us, yay! If you're not too busy freaking out about that unrealistic bikini body you've had planned for months (yet failed miserably to achieve) then you may wish to sort out your POA for your holiday hair!
Well, I have just come back from my amazing holiday to Thailand to visit my sister and am more than happy to share some of my hair tips with you :)

Me and my beautiful sister Rose in Thailand, giving my hair a much needed break from my GHDs

Holiday Hair Essentials #1: Hair Extensions (obviously)

Bring a bit of glamour to your getaway by bringing your hair extensions! I took my Half Head Set which was perfect for quick up dos, a bit more thickness and length. Here at Lush Hair Extensions, we sell Half Head Sets in 15", 18" and 20" and they are a total bargain with prices starting from only £18.99. There are 6 pieces in a set so the Half Head is quicker and more convenient to apply when on holiday.

I have naturally curly/wavy hair so plaited my Half Head Set overnight. Once the extensions were clipped in they blended in with my own her seemlessly, no styling appliances needed either! For tight waves or curles, plait the extensions in smaller sections.

Holiday Hair Essentials #2: Easy hair styles

Take your hair doughnut! High buns are still big news and are very low maintenance. The doughnut shall keep your hair looking sleek and away from your face, this is ideal if you're off to a humid destination or have an activity holiday planned.

The doughnut ring - I purchased mine from Primark for only £1

High Ponytails. These are way more than just a bad hair day quick fix. If ponytails are good enough to grace the catwalks of Hermes, Balmain and Donna Karen, I think they're acceptable for all Holiday fashionistas. Take inspiration from Cheryl Cole, Jessie J and Mandy Moore (who's neon pink lip colour is also bang on trend) and pony up! You can use a few pieces from your Lush Hair Extensions set or just use the Half Head set which is more than sufficient to achieve this look.

Holiday Hair Essentials #3: Hair products

UV Protection for your hair! This is a MUST if you're not too keen on crispy, dried out locks. Your hair will be very grateful if you invest in some hair protective products. Kerastase's 'Soleil' range is fabulous - they contain all the nutrients and protectants your hair needs to keep glossy and soft in the sun:

The hair Masque and Apres-Soleil (after sun) products are particularly effective

If you're ditching the styling tools like I did on my holiday then you need to rock the beachy surf waves. Even if your hair is quite straight there are many products on the market to encourage your hair's natural kinkiness ;) Bumble + Bumbles' South Surf Spray is a cult product for summer hair.

Okay, so it's a bit pricey at £19.50..
If you are on a budget, Dry Shampoo can do practically the same job. Try out Dry Shampoo which also has a gorgeous fruity smell.

Schwarzkopf Got2b Rockin' It Dry Shampoo £6.99

Holiday Hair Essentials #4: Hair accessories

Headbands add a perfect feminine touch to your holiday look. www.asos.com and www.accessorize.co.uk offer a great range. I'm loving floral headbands this summer..
Wear this Accessorize daisy chain headband with your hair down in a centre parting (£6.00)

Kirby grips - Holiday FAIL-SAFE accessory! Load up on these as they lend a helping hand to any Holiday hair style.

Holiday Hair Essentials #5: Knot free hair

And finally.. The almighty Tangle Teezer. Holiday or not you need one of these babies in your life. If you've been dipping in the sea and your hair is a mass of salty and sandy knots then the Tangle Teezer shall be your best friend.

The Compact Tangle Teezer - designed for hair on the go

What are your holiday hair essentials and how shall you be wearing your hair??
